Become an
MYA Sponsor

By working with Memphis Youth Athletics, you can help us and our sponsors instill healthy habits, promote active lifestyles, and develop a thirst for friendly competition in student-athletes across the Memphis area.

Why Sponsor MYA?

MYA encourages kids of all abilities and socioeconomic backgrounds to take their first steps toward an active lifestyle so that they’re more likely to continue healthy habits into adulthood.

How do we foster children’s fitness and athletic aspirations? By managing, supporting, and funding youth track & field, cross country, and running programs year-round.

The result? Nearly 3,000 kids from over 70 schools across 20+ zip codes in the Memphis area participating in our spring track & field, fall cross country, and summer running programs.

Over 400 of those children are in a need-based situation. That’s where you step in: MYA — with the generous support of our sponsors — helps those families get over any financial hurdles that would otherwise prevent their children from participating.

And with plans to grow to 5,000 participants by 2023, we need the help of sponsors like you more than ever.

  • Exposure to over 3,000 participants — as well as their families and spectators
  • Connection to local and national audiences through our signature events: The Frank Horton Invitation
  • 501c3 tax deduction

How Your Sponsorship Helps MYA

According to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA), children from homes in the lowest income bracket are far more likely to be physically inactive than kids from wealthier neighborhoods.

How We Invest in Our Kids

  • Program Fee Waivers (XC + T&F + Summer Program) = $500
  • Uniform (singlet & shorts) = $60
  • Shoes (new, not used) = $90
  • Stipends for teachers at Title 1 school who volunteer to coach

For a team of 10 kids and a coach, the total cost invested is upwards of $2,500, depending on their needs.

Help from Our Sponsors

The MYA City Summer Program is a 6 – 8 week health and wellness summer program with track & field at its core.

This program aims to impact third- through eighth-grade students by developing stronger physical abilities, athletic confidence, and an appetite to learn the joys of physical fitness and wellness.

With help from our sponsors, we were able to:

  • Raise over $150,000 to offset camp costs and scholarships
  • Prepare and serve over 3,600 meals (breakfast and lunch) to our campers
  • Sign up 110 campers from 22 zip codes from all over Memphis — 10 of which were classified as need-based neighborhoods
  • Award 75 scholarships based on zip codes and/or requests
  • Award 15 internships to local high school student-athletes
  • Host 10 speakers to visit and share their life journey with our campers
  • Take six educational field trips spanning the city
  • Help each camper learn how to form healthy habits with every run, jump, and throw!
