Keep Memphis Running — Even After Cross Country Season
At Memphis Youth Athletics, we’re excited to bring all student runners from the Memphis area together for Team 901, our cross country postseason running program.
How Team 901 Works
Eligibility
Welcome to the Team 901 XC Postseason Program! The MYA Team 901 XC Postseason Program is open to Memphis Youth Athletics participants in grades 3 – 12.
Over the course of three to four weeks, we’ll prepare runners in grades 3 – 8 to compete in the National Youth Cross Country Championship Meet in Shelbyville, IN, and runners in grades 9 – 12 to compete in the Garmin RunningLane XC Championships in Huntsville, AL.
Practices
We’ll offer practice three to four times a week prior to competing in these national races. Athletes will have the choice to practice in:
- Collierville
- Germantown
- Lakeland
- Shelby Farms
Fees
The total cost of participation on Team 901 is $100. This cost covers:
- $25 national race registration fee
- Team 901 uniform top
- T-shirt
- Practices
- Team meal before the national meet
- Insurance
Please note that travel costs and hotel aren’t include in the fee.
You also have the option to:
- Purchase a Team 901 Tech Shirt for $10 and a hoodie for $16
- Pay $20 to practice with Team 901 only and not participate in the national race
Distances
For the National Youth Cross Country Championship Race, the distances are based on age group:
- Ages 6 – 8: 2K
- Ages 9 – 10: 3K
- Ages 11 – 12: 3K
- Ages 13 – 14: 4K
- Ages 15 – 18: 5K
