What began as a simple vision to introduce more children to running has transformed over the past decade into something truly special: a movement. Memphis Youth Athletics (MYA) has not only ignited a passion for cross-country but also created incredible growth in track and field, positively impacting thousands of young lives in our beloved community. Why MYA Matters
Each season, children gather to participate in MYA’s well-organized cross-country and track meets. Beyond healthy competition, they also learn invaluable life lessons about perseverance, dedication, and the rewards of hard work.
In short, track and field teaches young people that what they put in is what they get out, and this is the cornerstone of our mission. MYA is committed to breaking down barriers, fostering inclusion, and uniting children from all parts of Memphis. Through athletics, we can bridge communities, promote a lasting active lifestyle, and create a better future for the youth of Memphis.
How We’re Keeping It Going
As we celebrate MYA’s first decade, we want to look to the future — our vision to continue breaking down barriers and offer new opportunities is bigger than ever. With your support, we aim to expand our reach and impact even further in the next ten years. Plans for facility improvements, including a new cross-country course and a track and field complex, are on the horizon, and we need partners like you to bring this vision to life.
To kick off the new year and our future goals, we’re hosting the On the Move, Auction and Gala on February 15. It will be a can’t-miss event with food, entertainment, and, of course, a live and silent auction. Every dollar raised through the auction will directly support Memphis Youth Athletics’ mission, making a meaningful difference in the lives of young athletes across our community.
